Phil Wilson is a legendary trombonist/ educator/composer/arranger who’s illustrious career includes
his work with Woody Herman’s famed ’60s Thundering Herd band, arranging for Buddy Rich and
receiving a Grammy nod for his Mercy, Mercy, Mercy chart, performing with Louis Armstrong on the ’64 GRAMMY Awards. Phil taught for 50 years and is a distinguished professor at the Berklee
College of Music.
